This weekend was fun, but tiring (in the good way). Saturday our little worship team got together to do an outreach from a building owned by one of our pastors and family. Since last year the city had decided to disallow any mention of Christmas in the Festival of Lights parade he wanted to put up a "Merry Christmas" banner over the doors to the building, which was right on the parade route. Plus, we had the doors open and a small PA system so we could play worship tunes, Christmas carols, and a few other tunes for the people outside.
It was tough work to get everything set up and working, but it was so worth it. Now I kind of wish I could just go around and play like that all of the time. What a blast! One of my nieces recorded some video of my working on the intro to our arrangement of "O Come All Ye Faithful," but since she did it via a digital camera I had no idea she was recording video at the time. I'm glad your worship team got to do something nice for the Christmas season, & I'm sure it was appreciated by the listeners. Might I ask what you meant by your city disallowing the mention of Christmas in the Festival of Lights parade? Perhaps I'm thinking of the wrong Festival of Lights, but isn't it Christmas-y anyways? Or is this sort of like how it's politically correct to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" or whatever. I don't know what I'm saying, never mind.
